Welcome to our new website! Finally, right? For a long time we've been hearing from our patients and friends, telling us that we need a new website, or just a website, period! Well, we've been hearing you and we've been working on it. It's taken awhile, but we wanted to do it first-rate, and we were really particular about getting just the right look and content. We hope you'll like it, and we look forward to hearing your comments and reaction. We're also now on Facebook (please like our page for updates) as well as Twitter and LinkedIn. We want to use these web tools and social media to keep in touch with our wide circle of friends, and hopefully make some new ones along the way. If you're one of my regular patients, you already know that you can expect the very best care here at our clinic, and I can usually get you to smile while you're here as well. Where do you think I get all my awesome jokes? From all of you, of course, so keep 'em coming!
One of the things I really enjoy about being a Doctor of Chiropractic is the tremendous opportunity I have to meet people, interact, and especially to get the satisfaction of knowing that I'm helping people to feel better and become more healthy. Anything we can do to achieve that goal, we want to do, and we hope our new website will help us reach out and connect with people who might benefit from our care. While you're here on the site, take a look at our video. It's pretty cool!
A little more about what I've been up to: It's been a pretty good summer for surf here on the Central Coast, and I've been lucky to catch quite a few good days. For a guy who's done it all his life, taking off on a wave is just second nature. I try very hard to stay in good shape (you know how I'm always telling you guys to keep going to the gym, or just take brisk walks three times a week) but as we get older, you can feel changes in your muscles and joints. Even if you're young, it's still really important to warm up and stretch before you exercise. You don't have to overdo it, but definitely do it. I see a lot of patients who say right off, "Brad, I think I pulled something". If you warm up properly before whatever physical activity you do, the chances of getting injured go down. Now, for you rugby players, it probably won't matter anyway. Just kidding! If you want to read more about safe stretching and to get specific pointers, have a look at this article from the Mayo Clinic, here.
Okay, that's about the latest from me, but check back in here regularly. Now that I've got this internet soapbox to get up on, I'm going to be using it! Come by and see us soon, we'll be looking for you.
Brad
